Announcement: 25th Annual Swan Conference (The Trumpeter Swan Society)

Trumpeter swans assemble at sunrise in the reflection of chestnut-colored prairie grass at Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary in West Alton, Missouri.

We are in the homestretch of another summer and I’m already setting my sights on fall. One of the great things about late-fall in Missouri is the return of our beloved trumpeter swans. This year will be special because the Trumpeter Swan Society is having their 25th Annual Swan Conference (November 19 – 21) in Alton, Illinois, right across the Mississippi from Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary and Audubon Center at Riverlands, both sponsors of this event.

Now here is the cool part, at least for me. I’ll be the Keynote Speaker at the Gala/Banquet on Thursday evening, November 21. I plan to talk about how I collaborated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to capture some of the swan images such as the featured image above. I’ll also share all kinds of other critter images and anecdotes, most of which I can’t tell you about because I haven’t prepared my talk yet. I plan to make it a fun presentation though, as always.

If you’re not excited yet, maybe this will help. You don’t have to register for the entire conference if you simply want to come to the Thursday evening banquet featuring a great buffet, silent auction, live music and yours truly. The cost is $40 for that evening. Here is a link to the conference, including banquet registration:

Maybe I’ll see some of you there. I can’t wait!

Happy Naturing,
